Darn Feather 10x8 mixed media

During my days as a sign painter, we used enamel paints and they work completely different than the types of paints you use for fine art. There were sometimes when I was painting I would have paint left in my roller so I would randomly put it on some blank canvas'. Later if one of those canvas' spoke to me on what it needs I would then finish it. Sometimes I would have it sit there for months or even years before it spoke to me. This one had the sky color on it and I added the seagull and the ocean.

My most favorite type of painting is to do expressionistic painting because I can tell a story, but really I feel it is the hardest type because you really need to work and making sure that people will understand what I am trying to say. I feel that I was able to translate a story here, What do you think?

Sweet Dreams 10x10 oil on Canvas

While learning to paint I had this blue background and it was perfect for what I call sweet dreams because it make me think of the Wizard of Oz and the flower field where they all fell asleep.
Love love the color combo. I feel I should try to work with those colors as a pallet. Hmmm maybe I will try.

6 scoops should do ya

 Gessoed tissue paper from a party to a canvas where I am very sure that they had ice cream, so I feel that this delicious multi flavored ice cream was perfect to paint on it. I used molding paste for the ice cream and painted over it with oils.
Has anyone ever used molding paste it really was perfect for this application, look forward in trying it again.

Triple Juicy 16x10 oil

 

Just looked good enough to eat and seemed like a good thing to paint, plus the paper is from a burger joint so it had to be. Not sure why I think that food is fun to paint, this was especially fun.

I finally have a place to call my own a place to create and not worry about getting paint where it shouldn't be, and leave a mess if I want to.  This space is huge so my next step is to explore painting big canvas's.
So many have to paint in the living room or the dining room or somewhere they need to tear down every time they would like to paint. Honestly that sometimes keep you from painting because  you may only have a short time to paint. I believe to help the creativeness within you need a space.
I am hoping to just improve my space and organize it more and more as time goes by.

Focus only on the Prize oil 8x10 on canvas

I started and finished this in black and white and had it in my studio for a while.   Well I love color too much so I had to add color, well then it needed a bee that could only see the flower and really that is all he cared about. love it when the painting creates their own story and I am able to share what I see.
