Cactus in the morning 16x10 Acrylic

In acrylics I repaint some of my canvas' and wait until I see something that I like It must be the perfect item to go with the background color or material that I have a fixed.

 I had this blue canvas for awhile but one day felt like this particular cactus belongs there. Acrylics is the perfect medium for this method.

I love oils a lot but for my fun and funky stuff I always seem to revert to acrylics.

When painting with acrylics I have so much fun, seems like I like to paint fun and funky stuff with them. These piggies are on a canvas that I covered with tissue paper from a baby shower for my daughter. I then painted them with my fingers then finished the last bit of details with a brush.
This week I have been able to attend a workshop in carmel WOW so far I am learning so much hope to have some to share.

While traveling around the back country of the eastern Sierra Nevadas, we stumbled on an old town ghost town I should say not much left of Benton Hot Springs. In this town they do not have any cold water just hot water for the whole town. In its day, which was the same time as Bodie it boasted of many famous people that loved to come for the hot water. while walking around the towns little history tour, I came across a buffalo well I love buffalo and have always wanted to paint one. Well yay here is one just for me. Well my husband and I worked real hard to get this photo he was very busy eating and did not want to look up you would think that he was bored of people and saw them all the time. I have to say again we were out in the middle of nowhere. Well we pissed him off real good I really thought that he might chase us but we got a great photo and I was happy.

The other side of Three 8x10 oil on a board

I did this on the shore of the west coast in the city of Laguna Beach Ca. I was able to take a workshop with an artist that I admire, He leans very heavily on the information that artist Carlson teaches and even suggests the book by him. I learned so much in the 3 days that I was able to work with him.

I was able to finish 5 paintings the was the second of the 5.

Music, Music,Music

Not sure why I felt like painting this it was one of those I saw at the wee hours of the day, then painted it as soon as I could. I first painted the whole canvas or the background to look Musical. I then took a pallet knife to paint the cello. I have to say the if I don't do what I see I will get angry at myself who knows maybe it will also speak to someone else.

I know that I have not wrote for a long time, I haven't stopped painting or learning all that I can so as to improve .WORKSHOPS, WORKSHOPS, WORKSHOPS.
You can do them online or many artist have great workshops in some studios. I have been trying all that I can to so as to learn the craft of painting. It is not easy for me I am thinking that some have an easier time than others. I am now trying to set up a studio for myself where I can do big paintings. You see I am no different than so many of us out there really striving to find that niche with my style.

So wish me luck I have been doing these fun paintings. I gesso some fun paper to canvases and leave them to see or until I find an image that speaks to me. It tell me where it wants to be. LOL.
