The next few days I will talk about workshops, I really suggest if you are a beginner or even if you want to up your painting skills I feel that you would do well and enjoy a workshop.
How do you pick which workshop to attend. I would suggest that if you have an artist that you like. You like their style their pallet, watch to see if they will do a workshop. Another bummer that makes the choice difficult  is knowing if that artist knows how to teach. There might be reviews out on them but I would do a study to see, because workshops don't come cheap and especially if you travel.
Again Debra Huse had her workshop online and it was a little pricey but it was really worth it. Debra taught so much in a short program.

Learning to paint is not real easy I know there are so many videos and people that teach painting. There are so many artist that also do workshops. There are the workshops that are local and sometimes if you want an specific artist you might need to travel. I have done all three and enjoyed all three. I have done more online workshops because of course the ease of doing it right from your own work spot or studio. I recently did a workshop online with Debra Huse. I learned so much and had a great time. My biggest take home from her workshop was to simplify your compositions at first so as to work more on all the points that make a great painting. SO here was one of the paintings I did with here.

I love cows and I love daisy's thought this would be great combo.
I took a long break after getting out of the routine after Christmas. I wasn't posting but I was sketching and studying as well as painting. I have learned so much from two people but... I know I have a lot more to learn but painting helps develop habits and hopefully master this painting thing.

I have friends that are on the same journey and it has been fun. I am so glad I have them to encourage and inspire me.

Daisy Love 10x16

This was a fun painting that I did using just my fingers, It was done in acrylics. I really want to try another that is larger and use my whole hand. Hope you all like it.

I have not posted in a long time but I have not quit painting, I have been working on so many things. When working with artis that have been painting years you learn there are things that help make your painting pop, one of those are value I have been spending a lot of time working on value as well as perspective for me these are some of my weakness.

What are some of your weaknesses, come on you can tell me then we can encourage each other.

I was cutting this orange on this red cutting board, but I loved the colors together so I decided to paint it before I ate it.
