Day 30 can't believe I made it to the end.

Day 30, I made it to the end wow! I am still visiting my kids and my new grandson.
I am going to try to sit down here in the next couple of days and write down everything I learned in the last 30 days. I am going to do that for the two reasons, one it will help me remember what I need to do to improve my art and the next so if some of you are on your journey and it helps you YAY! then it is a win, win.

Day 29 WOW WOW one more day. "Waldro"

Day 29, ONE MORE DAY, Tomorrow the whole thing is done the whole thing is over, I hope with all I am I can just keep going. I am learning so much.

One of my favorite artist says that we are doing better as an artist when we hit #500, wow that means doing a painting everyday for over a year. If I miss days that will just prolong that. I really want to make art that is good.

Day 28, 2,1 more to go. "Night Out" 6x6 oil on a panel

Day 28, I am still visiting my daughter in Idaho, she has a lot of fun things to paint.

This bottle was the hardest things to paint I really want to do again to see if I can do it much better.

Not sure if I portrayed it so you understand that this is a crystal butterfly for the cork of this perfume  bottle.

Day 27 1,2,3 days left, "No More Headaches" oil on a 6x6 Panel

Day 27 I am still here with my new Grandson. The morning after the baby was born I woke after a very long night. I had a very bad headache took some aspirin. still didn't work finally after having a cup of coffee at dinner did I feel back to normal. The next day the same thing happened at that time I found that I was trying to wake with decaf coffee. Ugh! I am very addicted and was going through with drawls, darn it. who could guess you can be so addicted to coffee.

This painting will always remind me of those two days of no caffeine.
This cup was sitting outside on the sidewalk thought it would make a perfect painting.

Day 26, still counting down. "Fall Flowers"

Day 26 I had time to paint today my kids had these flowers Soooo what a great thing to paint.

New grandson is beautiful and coming home tomorrow so hope to paint more tomorrow.

These aren't my favorite, sitting on a wood surface I feel was hard to portray bu,t here they are.

Day 25 "Sitting in Purple"

Day 25, Sitting in Idaho after a night at the hospital you see my daughter had a my newest grandson.

So I am here wiped out trying to write this post. More lessons I learned here I still need so much more work on just simplifying, it is great I have this painting to remind me of that.

Day 24 Trying to paint a rose. "Inside"

Day24 I am busy today waiting for my newest grandson to show up. I painted this on Friday so that worked out perfect this little guy decided to show up early, So So Cal to Idaho I go.

Day 23 Playing "Ketchup"

Day 23,
One week left to go, wow! I was getting behind and panicking, so I was able to spend all day playing Ketchup.
Life always gets interesting, we received a call at midnight that my youngest daughters water had broke, she is 5 weeks early.

So today I will be heading to Idaho. so my last 7 days will be coming from Idaho.

Day 22 Plain white "boring" so I added you guessed it another pumpkin.

Day 22 still counting down 8 day to go. I bought this plain white note book that I use for my to do list thought I wanted to paint something on it.
So here it is right? pumpkins again.

Count down now 9 days left, "Cozy amongst the Leafs"

10, 9 wow just 9 to go, With every painting especially the painting I am not to happy with comes

many, many lessons. So many things in this painting did not happen the way I would want them to but now I just need to work on why then I feel I will have another problem solved that will help in my future painting. I guess what I am saying can't count it joy but a painting lesson which right now for me it so important.

When I find out the solution I will let you know in case you are having the same problem. I wish I could describe what I was trying to accomplish so maybe you could share what I need to do. If I figure that out I will share that also.

Day20, I never thought I would go this long. 'Staying Home"

My last painting of the 6 I needed to complete.

Day 20, I still have so much to learn. 10 days left gives me some relief but on the other side of me, I am a little panicked having a goal has kept me painting daily. I know I have said this but there is so many benefits to painting daily in just 20 days WOW I have learned and I have stumbled.

You see I don't want to stop because I want to get past the things I am stumbling on.
I have painted and wiped off over and over.

I have been satisfied, frustrated, and even elated. so hope you are all ok with me keeping on.

Day 19 "The Fruit of the Lemon Tree"

Day 19, I am home now, I need to get back to work on my practicing, I have so much to learn. Everyday I practice what I have learned but then I see how much more I need to know.

The thing is, even what I do know and have learned I then need to practice, practice, and more practice.

Day 18 " A Happy Place " oil on 8x8 Panel

Day 18 still on the road spent the night on the beach, great rest and relaxation to be ready for the rest of the challenge, I have lots of photos which will be great memories of our 4 day exploration.

Day 17 Little wonky but traveling so not a lot of time. "Big Eyes"

Hmmm 17 plus what makes 20 yes 3 and 10 equals 30 so 13 days left. WOW and I am learning so much. The more you paint you come upon problems, so now when reading or listening to others about art I hear some of those solutions. If I haven't been painting those conversations would not make any sense.
So bully for me that I am painting every day. not saying that that is easy, actually it is very hard. If I wasn't doing this challenge I am not sure I would have seen the value and most likely I would have missed many days. This painting is perfect example I did not have a lot of time and even shorter because I wiped it off then had to be satisfied with this I still might wipe it off and use it for another day.

So if anyone has thought of doing doing a 30day challenge, I would highly recommend it.

Day 16 Kern River bus "in between loads.

Day 16, Yay! I just made it, this was the first time painting from a picture I took. We are camping on the Kern River and while out walking this cool old blue bird bus was patiently waiting for its next its load of rafters that need a ride up to the top along side of the road. Not sure what I liked about I just did.


I haven't heard from anyone on how their creative process was going

Day 15 getting ready for fall

Day 15 Yay!! I think I will call this Hump day because I am half way there and still so amazed at myself, I typically make these kind of goals like Jan 1 resolutions and never fall through.

So here is another small fast and furious painting, each painting I learn more and more it is exploration for me right now.

I have to say it again thanks for watching my journey hope you will let me know once this is finished how I did and do you see improvement.

Day 14, This is number 5 of the 6 I need to do with the online workshop, learning so much and at the same time painting everyday. I know I have still so much to go but I feel like I am improving.

Day13 Majestic 6x6 stretched canvas

Day 13 not much to say today except to reconfirm what I have said days back.
Still working on value and brush strokes, and etc...

Day 12 Having some fun, here he is "Silly Dog"

Day 12 yesterdays painting was fun but I spent a lot of time on it, So yesterday I shared I was going to try again with a one stroke method.

Here he is, spent over half the time on him and I am pleased with how he turned out. I understand that there is room for improvement on all I have done so during the 30day and beyond that will be what I will be working

Day 11 of the 30, 30 am I Done Yet lol. "Can I come"

Day 11 I used a pen and drew this guy thought it would be fun to paint him, I am not a perfectionist but some reason I have to work on it unmercifully ugh!. I think now that I worked so hard on him I might try again and loosen up.

I will let you know if I get it done. Might take me the rest of my 30 day to figure out how.

Day 10, more still life, Hot Hot Hot,

A friend had these peppers that he grew, I love the way they looked so decided that I would like to try to paint them.
So Hot Hot Hot, I think is a great name and I am happy with the the way they turned out.

Day 9 still working on setting up still lifes, ready yet?

Day 9 of my 30 day challenge love some of the still lives people create it is great practice for painting with live objects instead of a photo.

Day 8 its Friday but that doesn't mean anything 30 days is 30 day

Day 8 this painting is part of an online workshop that I am a part of, in this I am working on creative brush strokes and vibrant colors, I am still learning.

I am loving working with oils but it is such a learning curve, not that I have other mediums figured out completely. So far I like oils the best.

Day 7 saw this photo on a magazine that I wanted to toss so I saw this on it painted it then tossed it.

Day 7, so far so good I feel still happy that I am keeping up with this commitment, I really do see how it will benefit me. So many times I hit that AHA moment and then don't paint for awhile and then lost it.
Now I am able to practice those moments.

Day 6, frustrated today started out to paint this cow with very few strokes, I imagine it was after the 100th stroke that I realized that I not was going to accomplish my goal. oh well ugh! here is my mornings painting. I guess it goes along with day 5 just saying you need the cow for the milk.

Day 5 milk always with cookies

My goal as I said is to create art with limited amount of info or detail in each piece honestly if you have never tried this it is a lot harder than you might think.
I am going to use the rest of my days to practice this method.

Much of the art that I have shared I painted and repainted many times.
So please let me know at anytime if you see any improvement.

Orange Bell Pepper for day 4

Well I am still working away at this 30paintings in 30days, on day 4 honestly this is the longest that I have stayed with a commitment to paint daily, really quite proud of myself. I know you think it is too early to say that and probably you are right, but small celebrations right.

I painted today's bell pepper with fewer strokes of paint then some of my previous pieces I hope that it's brightness shows.

                                                           

Off to prepare for tomorrow.        

Day 3 good thing we started on the 1st it makes it easy to remember what day I am on. (not such a great memory)

More studies here again, I have family here so I have little time to paint. I am still trying to do the studies they don't take a lot of time and I am still working on making it to the other end of my journey.
Thinking I might not ever make it but darn it

I am going to enjoy the process along the way.

In these studies I am working on value and some composition and simplifying. What I mean by simplifying is to paint the image or images without a lot of detail paying attention to brush strokes.
My hopes is to learn to make paintings that resemble what I want and with interest.

Day 2 of the 30 30

This 30 paintings in 30 is a little daunting especially during the first weekend end. Weekends for me are so busy so I should be up early to paint but I did not get up early enough.

I am lucky enough to have all my kids and grandkids in one place this weekend so I am never going to complain it really is the best.

So I won't have a lot of time to paint but I will post what I did anyway.
So here I go.

My first day with the 30 days of paintings in 30 days. is today Being it started September 1st..
So everyday in September I will be posting a painting that I have done. Most will be from my easel using oils which is a brand new medium for me.
